Matthew Semel
Co-Founder, Director / Creative Director

Matthew Semel co-founded 10ton with a vision of creating entertaining and engaging content for the expanding world of online video. He directed the award-winning short commercial Get Engaged Quickly. Other recent directing credits include Billy’s Browser, a humorous spot for the Firefox web browser, which aired in major television markets around the USA, and Four Pig Poems, a comedic animated short that screened in various festivals worldwide. His short documentary, Sprawlville, was a finalist for the Richard Vague Production award. Prior to 10ton, Matthew worked as a video editor and 3D animator. His previous work includes award-winning commercials, music videos, and short films for such clients at Wal-Mart, Hershey’s, Pillsbury, Proctor & Gamble, and Nickelodeon. Matthew’s work has been featured on network television, MTV, and in museums.

Chris Chang
Co-Founder, Creative Director

Chris’ main focus at 10ton is writing and developing new creative projects. He wrote Get Engaged Quickly 10ton’s first award-winning web short. He also created 10ton’s Carded.tv, a soon-to-be released online video e-card site. Before 10ton, Chris worked as a video editor and copywriter. Previous clients include Wal-Mart, Lysol, Four Seasons Hotels, Entertainment Tonight, Tribeca Film Festival, Ford and Chevrolet. Chris has also written several feature length screenplays.

Lee Semel
Co-Founder, Director of Strategy & Technology

Lee Semel is an Internet entrepreneur who is dedicated to creating great online experiences. He founded 10ton to help companies exploit the emerging potential of online video. An expert in web development, usability and internet technology, he has created award-winning sites for major media, entertainment, finance, e-commerce, and nonprofit organizations including Harvard University, the Ad Council, Ruder Finn, Paramount Pictures, NY1 News, Council on Foreign Relations, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the US Department of Homeland Security, Chase, Goldman Sachs, as well as numerous Internet startups. Previous projects include online games, social networking sites, content management systems, marketing campaigns and web applications.

Ray Foley
Executive Producer

For the past ten years, Ray has worked extensively with film production companies such as Maysles Films, Giraldi, Hungry Man, Celsius Films, MJZ Productions, and @radical media, in a variety of media, including television commercials, documentaries, industrials and dramatic shorts. His credits include the Grammy Award winning documentary Recording the Producers: A Musical Romp with Mel Brooks, directed by Susan Froemke, the Dave Meyers-directed opening sequence for NBC’s Saturday Night Live, and A Peculiar City, New York City’s 2012 Olympic film directed by Bob Giraldi and the recent winner of the Bronze Award at the Hamptons International Film Festival. Foley’s first documentary, Anytime Tomorrow, which focuses on the career of folk rock musician Neal Casal, premiered at the New Yorker Film Festival.
